Description

Rosette Nebula shot between January 2020 and March 2022.  8 hours of RGB data so on the low side for my typical images, but such a bright target
I'm not sure more data would make a big difference.

It was nice to be able to frame the whole object in a single image, no mosaic required.

Took a lot of processing to bring the color out.  The original RGB combination was almost monotone.

Basic processing flow:

Acquisition with Voyager  -  most of this was when I was using a homebrew scheduler addon, and the later frames were using Voyager Advanced,
which has made planning and acquisition a joy.

Calibration with GeSS and SiriL.

Pixinsight:  WBPP
Channel Combination
GradientXpert which had made life so much simpler than with DBE
ImageSolver -> SpectroPhotometricColorCorrection
No noise removal, image seemed ok without it
BlurXT - another wonderful tool that has replaced Deconvolution in my flow
Played with arcsinh, masked and generalized hyperbolic stretch and chose masked
Made a mask by extracting luminance, HistoTrans to clip blacks and increase brightness then StarXterminator
Masked nebula and applied curves and HDRMT with Gaussian (9) process
Out to 3DLUT Creator for contrast and color shift - this is a great tool pointed out to me by Lloyd from Deep Sky West.
It lets you click on a color on the image and drag to shift the color - really fun to use and so much easier than alternatives.

I also shot SHO and will see if that is worth adding to the gallery.
